Workshop description:

In Spain, in Europe, and in other parts of the world, the right and the extreme right are gaining political space and taking over public discourse. In a context like this, we cannot remain with our hands folded. We have to organize and participate. Critical Discourse Analysis seeks to denounce discourses that reproduce the abuse of power and social inequality, but also tries to create strategies to support solidarity and social movements.

The purpose of this workshop is to analyze discourses that reproduce abuse of power and discrimination, but it also aims to explore and create discursive strategies that help social struggle and counter conservative ideologies that destroy democracy, cultural diversity and nature.

The workshop will be led by César Colorado, professor-researcher of the Centre of Discourse Studies.
