ABOUT THE MINI-COURSE

Given that more than 60% of news stories originate from statements, this course analyzes the ways in which other people's speech is represented or alluded to in newspaper headlines, from the well-known direct and indirect speech to more subtle forms of allusion or representation, and their impact on the construction of meaning.

The course aims to encourage critical reflection on how these decisions influence the interpretation of information and the relationship with sources. Based on the analysis of representative examples from the Spanish and Latin American press in recent years, participants will be able to identify the most common resources and assess their implications in the construction of journalistic discourse.
