PhD SEMINAR - SAED
Seminario Avanzado de Estudios del Discurso - SAED (Advanced Seminar of Discourse Studies)
The Centre organises an advanced, bi-weekly seminar for PhD students from Barcelona's three major public universities (UPF, UB, and UAM) and for visiting scholars and PhD students who are specialised in any field of Discourse Studies or who use Discourse analytical methods in their thesis - especially from a critical perspective.
The sessions, led by Dr. Teun van Dijk, consist of an introduction into a major field or method of Discourse Studies, followed by a presentation of one SAED member's PhD Project each session. All SAED members are expected to present their research and share their specialised knowledge.
We are accepting applications from PhD students interested in participating in SAED.
First session: Tuesday, 14 January
Final session: Tuesday, 26 May (Changed to 23 June due to COVID-19)

Number of total hours: 25
Time: from 5:30pm to 8pm
Location: Centre of Discourse Studies, Plaça del Bonsuccés 15, 7-6
Interested students can send their cover letters to . SAED is a free seminar and will be limited to a maximum of 30 students. Applications will be accepted based on the relevance of research interests, the applicant's participation ability and commitment, and on the order in which they are received.
